Hummingbird Trauma Resolution
An independent APRN practice specializing in a mind-body approach to resolving trauma/PTSD, physical pain and chronic stress.

Individual sessions
Somatic Experiencing sessions in English and Spanish, for individuals aged 18 and up, mostly virtual on Zoom or Doxy HIPPA approved video platforms. The number of sessions varies greatly from six to ten for resolution of a single event trauma like a motor vehicle accident or a fall, to a year or more for traumatizing experiences that were ongoing in childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, and for co-existing medical illnesses such as chronic physical pain, digestive disorders, autoimmune issues, and Long Covid. When starting work with a new client I like to schedule weekly appointments if possible for the first month or so to establish momentum, and then shift to bi-weekly appointments.
I am in-network with Medicare, some Medicare Advantage plans, CT Medicaid/Husky, and many of the plans of private insurance companies, including Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, ConnectiCare, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and United Health Care. For uninsured clients there is a sliding scale fee determined on a case-by-case basis.
Experiential Educational Groups
Online and in person Somatic Experiencing groups. Much healing can be done through nervous system education and experiential practices for physiologic self- regulation; thus group work is very effective, without participants sharing personal histories. The curriculum is six or eight weekly 90-minute class sessions. In these groups there is often a mixture of people seeking trauma healing and professionals wanting to learn more about Somatic Experiencing, or Somatic Experiencing practitioners and trainees interested in how SE is done as an educational group format.
Professional Trainings
